School activities - 4th and 5th day

 

Fourth day in class, we learned about phrasal verbs, which are a combination of a verb and one or more particles (prepositions or adverbs) that create a new meaning different from the original verb. They are very common in English, especially in spoken language and informal writing.

Phrasal verbs consist of:

A verb (e.g., take, give, put, run)

A particle (a preposition or adverb, e.g., up, out, on, off)

For example:

Turn off → The meaning is different from just “turn” (e.g., Please turn off the lights means to switch them off).

Give up → Means to stop doing something (e.g., I gave up smoking).

Phrasal verbs are essential for understanding native speakers and making speech sound more natural. They are often used in idiomatic expressions and informal communication.

Fith day first, we divided into groups. The teacher gave us texts to read about Maltese history, then we had to answer questions about the texts.

After that we played taboo where we had to guess the word through the clues that the partner gave us.

And finally we played kahoot to have some fun.
